DAVENPORT--Highway 28 has re-opened in both directions about three miles south of town at milepost 131 and at milepost 118 in Harrington after momentarily closing due to two semitrucks colliding and leaking hazmat chemicals, a press release from Washington State Patrol and a Facebook post by the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department said. DAVENPORT – The Department of Natural Resources instituted a burn ban for all area in Lincoln County north of Highway 2 beginning at dawn April 16 due to concerns over high winds and dry conditions, unless one had a DNR permit. DAVENPORT--Valene Jean Wynecoop, an inmate at Lincoln County Jail was found dead yesterday just after 3 p.m. during a routine cell check, the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office informed The Times this morning. The sheriff's department believes Wynecoop, 35, committed suicide. The cause of death remains under investigation. Wynecoop's family has been notified.
