It will soon be possible for Odessa residents to pay their water/sewer/garbage bill using a debit or credit card. The town has received an offer from Armada Corp., a Kennewick-based company that provides debt collection services, as well as processing of credit/debit cards for payments. Using a card for payment will involve a small fee to the user, four percent of the billed amount, but will not cost the Town of Odessa any money. MEDICAL LAKE - Odessa's Ryan Moffet at a district playoff game against Cusick in Medical Lake became the all-time state high school basketball scorer last Saturday. A total of 39 Odessa High School students attended the NE Region Winter Conference in Spokane on February 6. This first competition of the year represents the first time the current freshmen have ever competed in an FBLA event. February 9 was the sixth shoot in the Spokesman-Review Inland Northwest Trapshoot contest. Only two more weeks remain. The Marlin/Odessa Gun Club maintained its second-place position among Division I teams after the first five weeks of competition after first-place Yakima Valley Sportsmen. The Christmas lighting contest sponsored by the Odessa Lions Club ended on December 22, when a group of local Lions gathered to view the various town properties that had been decorated for the holiday season. The Odessa Tiger football team completed their second consecutive unbeaten season to retain the 1B traveling trophy. For the senior boys especially, it was the culmination of an unbroken string of victories that had them pumped up for every game despite knowing that the eight-man, small-school league offered them very little real competition.
