Last week’s issue of The Record-Times contained two errors in the sports/recreation section. We misspelled Davenport senior baseball player Denton Deal’s last name in a photo caption. In another photo caption, we incorrectly stated that Hayden Schuh set an Odessa school record in the 300-meter hurdles race at Ephrata. That school record is held by Jana Jasman, who ran the race in 48.88 seconds....
DAVENPORT-A visit from the Colfax Bulldogs for the Gorillas and a trip to Kettle Falls for Reardan spelled losses for all local baseball and softball teams last Saturday, April 2, except for Reardan baseball splitting two games with their opponents. Colfax handled the Gorilla baseball and softball squads in both games of a doubleheader, which was the home opener for Davenport baseball and the season opener for softball. REARDAN--High winds gusting between 40 and 60 miles per hour have been relentlessly pounding Lincoln County and the surrounding Inland Northwest area today. DAVENPORT—The primary election is over four months away, but seven candidates running for office in Lincoln County this year have already registered their campaigns with the state Public Disclosure Commission. Three candidates for county sheriff and incumbents for auditor, prosecutor and assessor had registered by press time. DAVENPORT—Garbage and refuse pickup rates for Sunshine Disposal and Recycling are going up 3% effective April 1 after council approved Sunshine’s request at its March 23 meeting. The city has contracted with Sunshine for garbage disposal services within city limits since April 2014. The rate increase comes for the second time in 15 months after council agreed to extend the contract that was due for extension March 31. DAVENPORT—A Spokane County judge quickly dismissed an elections lawsuit filed against the Lincoln County Auditor’s office and auditor Chandra Schumacher by the Washington Election Integrity Coalition United (WEICU) and Jerry Schulz of Reardan in October. Presiding judge Michael Price granted the defendants’ motion to dismiss Monday, March 28.
