DAVENPORT—The school board heard about and discussed the district’s finances at a budget meeting Monday, May 9 that included projects for enrollment figures of 540 and 565. Business manager Dana Telecky shared an initial draft budget for 540 students that projects a 3.11% revenue increase and 3.10% expenditure increase for the capital budget. ODESSA- The annual wine tasting, micro brew sampling, live auction and silent auction returned to in-person gathering after two years of being online. DAVENPORT—P.E.O. recently announced their 2022 scholarship recipients, Darby McLaughlin of Reardan and Cady Zellmer of Davenport. Each of these young women will receive a $500 scholarship while attending their chosen institution of higher education. ODESSA-The 28th annual Spring Fling quilt show hosted by The Odessa Quilt Club and Fronen Steppdecker had another successful year. There were over 200 quilts on display. The vendors in attendance were Toasty’s (Spanaway), Milk Bottle Co. (Odessa), Crazy Quilter (Lind) and Stitch! (Reardan). DAVENPORT—The Lincoln County Museums is back open for visitors from all over the state and country to check out beginning Wednesday, May 25. The museum will mark a notable anniversary this year of 50 years. The museum will be open from Tuesday-Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., open Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. and closed on Mondays this season. Rita Voise of Odessa, Wash. passed away on May 5, 2022. She was born July 4, 1933 in Odessa to Henry and Elsie Uhrich, joining sister, Carol, and later joined by sister, Shari. Rita married her high school sweetheart, Richard Voise, on April 4, 1952, and together they farmed and raised their family.
