FBLA Week was celebrated by the Odessa chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America on February 6-10. Dr. Dudley passed away February 15, 2017, in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. He was born in Dayton, Wash. on April 23, 1936. He graduated his secondary studies at Dayton High School and continued his studies at Washington State University, going on to complete his masters degree at Bowling Green, Ohio. It was recently shared with the Odessa High School FBLA chapter that there was a need to provide some of the senior citizens in our community with home-cooked meals. Many were finding it difficult to prepare meals due to the difficulty of leaving their homes in the icy weather conditions or for health reasons, due to having no or limited cooking skills or because budgets were tight. The Odessa Town Council met Monday, February 13, in the public library at the community center. Hal and Jan Patterson were introduced as new members of the community attending their first council meeting. A local citizen returned to appear before the council with a complaint about his water/sewer/garbage billing. Library board meeting Staci Rasmussen, Susan Larmer, Grace Moeller, Marge Womach and Mayor Dillon Haas met Thursday, February 16, to assess the KOHA bar-code software program. The Harrington Public Library has a contract with the Washington State Library to use the program at no charge.
