Columbia (Hunters) On March 28, the O-H Titans played Columbia (Hunters), defeating that team in both games of a double header. The battery consisted of Chance Messer pitching to catcher Marcus King. Messer was credited with the win in game 1, facing 22 batters and striking out 11 of them. The Titans won, 13-1. The Desert 100 off-road motorcycle endurance race may have been the largest ever judging from the size of the campsite at the corner of Irby Road and SR 28. Edna Janke-Jorgenson passed away peacefully on March 30, 2017, three days before her 105th birthday, at Odessa Memorial Healthcare Center. She was born April 2, 1912, in Chester, Mont., the first child of David and Mary (Heimbigner) Heimbigner. The family homesteaded in the Chester area for several years. The O-H Titan golf team has had a slow start to its season due to weather conditions. The first match at Odessa was cancelled due to poor course conditions. The team played Inchelium at Harrington March 21, with John Tanke leading the team as the low scorer. Ritzville won the next match on March 28, where Colt Sanford was the best scorer for the Titans. Patricia A. Kissler passed away on April 2, 2017 in Spokane. A funeral service will be held Friday, April 7, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the Heritage Church in Odessa, with burial at the Odessa Cemetery. The issue of parking next to the community center was discussed by the council with input from police chief Tom Clark. The decision was made to utilize perpendicular parking with spaces marked by white stripes on the east side of the building, beginning just north of the door to the town clerk’s office.
