    The official filing period for the fall elections will be held May 16 - 20, 2016. According to the records of the Lincoln County Auditor’s Office, the following is a list of those positions subject to the 2016 election. County commissioner positions will appear on the primary ballot for their respective districts and on the General Election ballot for the entire county.     The Odessa school district’s production of the musical Hairspray Jr. was held March 31 in the school multipurpose room. Two performances were held, the early one mainly for school children and the later one for community members at large. There were some notable performances.     Beginning in 2010, as part of the goal to provide health education for our community, the Odessa Healthcare Foundation began sponsoring a class called Babysitting Basics for youth ages 10-18 interested in improving their skills as a babysitter.     Odessa police chief Helen Coubra handed in her two week’s notice to the town council Monday night at the regularly scheduled council meeting. Mayor Lois Hubbard appeared stunned, as she had apparently no warning that such a step was coming.     The Spring Fling weekend activities are falling into place, with much to do and see.
