    HARRINGTON — A local woman lost her home and cat during a fire early Thursday, March 6. Patsy Tanferani and her friend Gail Cleaver were home when the fire started. Cleaver said she heard Tanferani screaming while she was in the bathroom. “I came out of the bathroom and saw flames higher than Patsy,” Cleaver said. “She asked if I could put it out.     DAVENPORT - The sights, sounds and smells associated with a junior livestock show were in full display at a well-attended Lincoln County Spring Showcase at the Fairgrounds Saturday, April 15. 119 students from around the Pacific Northwest came to show off their swine, beef, lambs and goats and try to take home victories by impressing the Wyoming and Texas-based judges at the showcase sponsored by WSU Extension. 46 youths participated in beef, with 29 for swine, 28 for lambs...

    DAVENPORT — A spring of construction waiting and following pilot cars on a section of U.S. Highway 2 is back for the second straight year. After repaving work was done between Reardan and Davenport last spring, work began Monday, April 17 on a 15-mile stretch between Rocklyn and Creston. According to a press release from the Department of Transportation, workers are rehabilitating the highway’s surface with HMA grind and inlay to smooth out highway travel.
