As Sheriff Wade Magers, several of his staff, two county commissioners and computer personnel held their collective breath on Tuesday morning, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s dispatching center’s new technology “went live” and the system that was first installed in 2004 was shut down. The Odessa Public Development Authority will hold its regular monthly meeting on Monday, May 20, at 7 p.m. in the Guild Room in the lower level of the hospital. Submitted by Kelsey Scrupps The 14th Annual Friends of the Pool Walk-A-Thon was held Sunday, April 28, and the kids raised over $3800 as of Monday, totaling over $7,000 total counting sponsors. According to Kimberly Ryan, FOP secretary, 69 students signed up, collected pledges, walked/ran or did both! A family of soon to be 15 members has recently taken up residence in the backyard of Tammy Tokas. A male and female quail have built a nest beneath Karen Carlson's (Tokas' sister) outdoor chimenea and laid 13 eggs. When the weather starts warming up it's not uncommon for Karen to build a fire so she and Tammy can sit outside and enjoy it.
