    The state 1B/2B/1A track and field meet was held last Friday and Saturday, May 26/27 at Eastern Washington University in Cheney, with the Odessa-Harrington boys placing third as a team and gathering several individual medals at the same time.     Odessa veterans Gerald Smith, Jerry Jasman, Ed Jasman and John Hardt dedicate the flags of former local service members who have died over the past year. A smaller than normal crowd gathered for the Memorial Day presentation at the Odessa Cemetery on Monday.     Justin and Natasha Parr of Odessa joyfully announce the birth of their son, Waylon Phillip Parr. He was born May 10, 2017, at 3:28 p.m. at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. He weighed seven pounds, seven ounces and measured 21.25 inches long. His maternal grandparents are Mike and Sherri Frederick of Odessa and Andrew and Denise Broxc of Boulder City, Nev.     Honie Bobetta Gies, age 75, of Kirkland, Wash. passed away peacefully on May 3, 2017 in Hawaii surrounded by her entire adoring family. She was born in Seattle on July 21, 1941, the only child of Thorne and Bobetta MacArthur.
