    Ron Frederick died July 8, 2014 at his home in Odessa at the age of 78. Ron was born May 30, 1936 in Odessa to Louis and Alma (Giese) Frederick. He attended school in Odessa until tenth grade, joined the U.S. Army at age 17 and had his 18th birthday in Korea during the Korean War. After the war he worked in Spokane at White Block Co. and Calkins Machinery, later moving back to Odessa to farm. Ron later went to work for the Odessa Trading Company as a machine yard foreman.     Nearly 700 Avista Utilities customers in the town of Odessa will experience a power outage on Wednesday, July 23, from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Thursday, July 24. The outage is required to create a safe environment for crews to work while upgrading the substation that serves the town.
