DeWane Buddrius was born June 9, 1941, to Clarence and LuVerna (Weishaar) Buddrius in Odessa. After a brief battle with brain cancer, DeWane passed away on July 24, 2015, and went to his Heavenly Home. DeWane was a 1959 Harrington High School graduate. Mike Connolly passed away July 29, 2015 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane. He was born July 7, 1956, in Tonopah, Nevada. He was raised in Reno, graduating from Manogue High School in 1974. Mike also attended the University of Nevada, Reno. Mike and Terry Mooney were married June 12, 1976. In 1977, Mike and Terry moved to Harrington to work on the Bly Ranch. Don Frick, currently a resident of Ephrata, turned 86 years old this Spring. During this year's harvest, he drove his John Deere 7720 combine for the 75th time. His first harvest was in 1941 when he was 12 years old and his job was to hang the sacks on a Harris pull combine. Summer reading ends Emma Aldrich organized the youngsters into the reading circle and began a story about Super-Hero Firemen. The Armstrong surname is familiar in the Harrington area. There were probably three W.B. Armstrongs in their family charts, but there was only one "Sleepy," whose given name was Edgar Alan Armstrong. What do larger school districts do when they have too many seniors that failed the required state biology test was necessary for graduation? They contact our state legislators and get them to put a two-year moratorium on the requirement, until 2017. The Board of County Commissioners has given the Lincoln County Economic Development Council the go ahead to administer a 2015 round of Rural Development Fund grants. Commissioners approved updated program guidelines at their regular meeting August 3, setting the process in motion.
