Curtis E. Finck was born February 28, 1925 in Elgin, N.D. to August and Matilda Finck. Curtis grew up in North Dakota and in 1945 joined the U.S. Army where he served until his discharge in 1946 at Ft. Lewis, Wash. On June 1, 1952, he married Sylvia Bartalamay in Odessa, and they farmed and raised their family.
