    LINCOLN COUNTY – A man convicted in a Lincoln County Jury trial of threatening to kill his ex-wife is planning to appeal his conviction at the state court of appeals. Wiza Nyasulu, 37, was convicted of a domestic violence harassment charge in a Lincoln County jury trial on July 22.     As Covid-19 fears have shut down county fairs and livestock shows, one Lincoln County mom found a creative way to help her daughter sell her fair steer. Dawn Nelson decided to hold a raffle to help her daughter, Laren, sell a steer that was supposed to be shown and sold at the Lincoln County fair.     DAVENPORT – A traffic stop by a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy last week resulted in the seizure of illegal narcotics and the recovery of stolen property.     FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE – On Aug. 31, 1956, the KC-135 stratotanker took its first flight off base. Over 60 years later, the refueling tanker continues to be the model used by the base for refueling missions and deployments.     OLYMPIA – On Sept.1, eligible organizations may begin applying for state grants to conserve community forests. The new state Community Forests Program will offer grants of up to $3 million.     REARDAN – A man who was arrested for being involved in a drunk driving crash north of Reardan on Aug. 15 is now being charged for breaking into a home near Reardan the same day. Paul Pozdeev, 52, was arrested on Aug. 15 around 9:30pm after being involved in a drunk driving collision.     SPOKANE – The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) is seeking help from the public to solve a poaching case in eastern Washington. A local rancher recently found a mule deer that was illegally shot on private land along Chapman Lake Road about half a mile east of Chapman Lake near the town of Cheney in Spokane County.     TACOMA – A U.S. District Court judge has ruled that gun-control measure Initiative 1639 is constitutional. U.S. District Court of Western Washington Judge Ronald Leighton, a Whitworth University graduate, issued his ruling Monday on the gun control measure.
