The Tiger varsity girls volleyball team played a non-conference game Tuesday evening, September 10, versus ACH in Coulee City. Unlike the tournament play reported last week, in which each team played to win two out of three games per match, Tuesday's match had the girls playing to win three out of five games. On August 16, the Odessa Friends of the Pool (FOP) hosted the 12th Annual Night Flyer Golf Tournament at Odessa Golf & RV. The night was a huge success, raising over $8,000! Funds were raised through sponsor donations, raffle ticket purchases and entry fees. With 16 teams, 64 people participated in the scramble style tournament. Once Odessa had expanded from a mere railway stop with an adjacent general store to a thriving community, it has had a fall celebration in order to mark the completion of the harvest, the end of summer and the cooler days of preparing for winter.
