"Dusty" Dormaier passed away at home October 27, 2016 at the age of 89. He was born to Emmanuel and Lena-Mary (Hardt) Dormaier on April 17, 1927 in Cashmere, Wash. Dusty was a wheat farmer near Odessa until retiring and moving to the Spokane Valley. Survivors include his wife Darlene, his children Laura Beal, Connie (Lee) Engelhardt and Mark (Beth) Wasemiller, 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Edwin C. Kern passed away November 3, 2016 in Odessa at the age of 100. He was a lifetime resident of the Marlin/Odessa area, where he farmed and raised his family. Edwin was born May 25, 1916 in Marlin to Fred and Matilda (Weishaar) Kern. He attended the Marlin School for grades 1-4, the Lauer school for grades 5-8 and the Odessa school for grades 9-12, graduating in 1935.
