June Odessa agriculture science teacher HaLee Walter and school superintendent Dan Read applied for and have received a grant for $15,000 from the Washington FFA Foundation. On Tuesday, January 15, the OHS Tiger boys took on the Oakesdale Nighthawks. The Nighthawks tried to fly away with the win, but were unsuccessful. The boys grounded the Nighthawks, 56 to 46. “The Machine” was high scorer in the game with a total of 36 points for Ryan Moffet. On January 9, awards were presented in the school cafeteria to members of the state champion Tiger football team. The team's quarterback Camden Weber received the Captain's Award. Marcus King, in recognition of his abilities on both offense and defense, was presented the Thundebolt Award. The Spokesman-Review’s Inland Northwest Trapshoot competition completed the third of its eight weeks of competition on January 13, 2019. The Marlin and Odessa Gun Clubs participate in trap shooting from their respective locations but combine their scores to form one team that is entered into the competition.
