The idea for the event came from...

A non-league game against Moses Lake Christian Academy was scheduled for Jan. 11, then postponed until Wednesday, Jan. 12, when the game was played in Odessa. Although MLCA dominated early, the Tigers fought their way back i...
DAVENPORT—The dawn of the New Year means many hunting seasons, such as deer and elk, are long gone. As winter persists, some hunts remain, while fishing begins to gain steam…both of the ice and standard varieties. Local Fish and Wildlife officer Curt Wood said fishermen are seeing success on Lake Roosevelt for trout and kokanee, both in bank and boat fishing. “I’ve heard of guys finding a lot of kokanee on the west end of the river toward Spring Canyon,” Wood said. Ice fishermen would do well to head to Fourth of July Lake...

REARDAN-The varsity girls team was down two starters and one main rotation player in its matchup against Upper Columbia Academy. DAVENPORT-An offensive showcase, Tuesday's game was not. But the Gorilla boys managed to score a couple more baskets than the visiting St. George's Dragons en route to a gritty, sloppy 45-39 win Jan. 4. St. George's put an early emphasis on double-teaming Davenport star Tennessee Rainwater and using 6'7" forward John Nowland inside to disrupt his driving attempts. In this first quarter, this allowed Davenport junior Brenick Soliday to convert three three-pointers, helping the...
DAVENPORT-The Gorilla girls have had trouble scoring points this season, and that trend continued Tuesday in a 52-24 loss to St. George's. St. George's came out strong, scoring the first nine points of the game and nabbing a pair of transition baskets as Davenport's bigs couldn't score around the rim while the guards turned the ball over in the half court. It didn't get much better, as Davenport's only score of the quarter was a Kiersten Kemmerer three-pointer and the Dragons...
