ODESSA – The Odessa High School baseball team finished up their 2021 season with only a single loss in a non-conference away game against Brewster that followed a recent win against the same team at home. The Tigers had a fine season, for the most part dominating their opponents with very lopsided wins. Besides the loss to Brewster, they met a serious challenge only against Wilbur/Creston/Keller when Odessa came out on top 2-1 in extra innings. When asked for a comment on the season, head coach Larry Weber said, “Just a hug...

DEER PARK – Davenport's Kristof Panke hasn't been touched in league play yet this season, but he faced his toughest challenge on the biggest stage to date at the district qualifying match May 3 from Wilbur senior Bectett Odengaard. Panke and Odengaard both shot tremendous 18-hole rounds and were two-under 70 through 18 holes. One playoff hole wasn't enough to break the tie, but on the second playoff hole, Panke sunk a 25-putt for eagle to take the win. Odengaard missed a s...

REARDAN – If not for the difference in throwing arms, Kettle Falls hitters might have thought they were facing the same pitcher twice in a row. Reardan improved to 3-7 with the pair of wins, snapping a six-game skid. Kettle Falls fell to 1-9. In the first game, Reardan jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the f...

DAVENPORT – The Gorillas got through their first three meets untouched this season after again winning the boys and girls team competition at the final regular season match in Davenport May 1, setting a school record along the way. COULEE DAM – The Kettle Falls, Fort Spokane and Spring Canyon campground loops that have been closed for the winter will reopen by April 29, along with most group campsites accommodating fewer than 50 people associated with these campgrounds. Lake Roosevelt is currently 100% reservation-only for all vehicle-accessible campgrounds. Because of this change, one can now reserve campsites right up to the day they arrive. Cell service is very spotty at Lake Roosevelt, so the National Park Service strongly recommends making r...
REARDAN-What do you call a girl who throws a no-hitter, tosses 11 shutout innings, strikes out 17 batters and drives in seven runs in a doubleheader? The Reardan Indians' answer to that question was pitcher A.J. Sosky Tuesday, April 28. The righty dominated the Davenport Gorillas, helping the Indians to a doubleheader sweep by scores of 11-0 and 13-3. Sosky's no-hitter came in the first game, which Reardan took control of early with six first inning runs. Sosky struck out 10...
