Highlighting the Past: Kinzel and Kinoshita In June of 2015, local home owner Kris Moritz donated a sizable collection of photos and memorabilia from her mother’s (Alice Kinzel Moritz) estate. HOHS Monday, January 7, the Harrington Opera House Society held their first meeting of the year with Ed Haugan, Linda Wagner, Mark and Sheryl Stedman, Gordon and Billie Herron, Marge Womach, Karen Robertson, Carol, Becky Moeller and Ellen Evans present. Rocklyn Zion Chapel The December Hymn Sing at the Rocklyn Zion Chapel will be Dec. 28 at 6 p.m. and is “an old-fashioned Christmas” with a live Christmas tree lit with real candles, prayer by Pastor Kim Kruger, singing for everyone, a message by Mary Mendenhall, a men’s quartet and Santa with children’s activities. Music in the Air A concert will be performed Friday, Nov. 30, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 1, at 2 p.m. by Alicia Mielke on flute and Kevin Garnica on piano at the Mielke barn located at 35099 Rolinco Road E., near Sprague, nine miles south of Harrington on the Harrington-Tokio Road. November Panther Newsletter A recently printed Panther News highlighted the Cowboy Buck and Elizabeth performance including details of their practice sessions at the school. The fifth and sixth grades took a field trip to the Eastern Washington University Challenge Course behind Roos Field on the campus. Presenting Peter Davenport “A Night of UFOs” was presented by Peter Davenport, Director of the National UFO Reporting Center co-sponsored by the Harrington Public Development Authority and the Harrington Opera House Society. This benefit lecture and slide presentation began at 6 p.m. to an audience of about 85. Burning Man Saturday, August 25, a Harrington resident and her sister departed Harrington in a well-laden automobile with gear, supplies and camping equipment strapped to the top, and a sign on the rear reading "The Kettles Go to Burning Man." The preparation for the trip was long, having made reservations in January and great planning into what costumes might be well-received.
