The Titan girls varsity volleyball team had a split for the week in its games against Davenport and Liberty.
OH vs. Davenport
Head Titan volleyball coach Ken Scherr said of the September 13 contest against Davenport, “It was an off night for us, but Davenport is always tough, especially at their place.”
Odessa-Harrington went down 25-18, 25-19 and 25-16 at Davenport. Serving leaders were Koralynne Kuch (8-0), Kendall Todd (7-0) and Amanda Hardt (11-0). Todd and Chelsea Fisher combined for 13 kills, and Charli Moffet contributed with 11 kill assists.
Blocking was led by Fisher with 5. Kuch led in digs with 8 of the team total of 30. Kira Powell followed with 7.
Lexi Hirst had 74% on serve receives (17-4), and Powell had 73% (16-8).
OH vs. Liberty
Thursday, September 15, the Titans defeated Liberty in three straight games, 25-16, 25-14 and 25-23. Lexi Hirst and Chelsea Fisher were serving leaders with 10-0 and 14-0, respectively. Hailey Williams added 4 aces.
Kills were contributed by Hirst (4), Fisher (4), Kendall Todd (5) and Kaitlyn Estep (5). Charli Moffet set up 17 kill assists. Fisher added 4 blocks.
Defensively, Kira Powell had 12 digs. Koralynne Kuch and Moffet added 9 each. Powell had an 85% on serve receives, with 17-3. Hirst had 89% with 8-1 and Kuch was at 75% with 6-2.
Coach Scherr said of the match, “Liberty was huge (height), and our girls just out-hustled them. It was one of our most consistent games.”
