At Harrington, Titans thrash Selkirk in three quarters, 42-0

The Titan football team got their second win of the season last Friday afternoon, thrashing Selkirk by a score of 42-0. The game was played in Harrington and was one of the many events associated with the Harrington Fall Festival last weekend.

The first of the Titans’ six touchdowns was made by Harrington junior Stetson Sanford on a nine-yard run into the end zone. Odessa quarterback Jared King ran the ball in again for the two-point conversion.

King also made the next score, racing 34 yards downfield into the end zone. This time the extra-point attempt failed, leaving the score 14-0.

Cade Weber was the receiver for a 38-yard pass from King for the Titans’ next TD. Sanford received the pass from King for the extra two points.

Harrington senior Brett Larmer, the sole senior on the O-H team, scored next on the ground from two yards out. On the conversion attempt, the running game was foiled by Selkirk, making the score 28-0 at the end of the first quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Larmer struck again from the one. King ran the ball in for the two-point conversion. After the half, King broke away for a 54-yard run into the end zone for the final score of the game and invocation of the mercy rule.

This Friday, September 30, the Titans play an away game in Mansfield in the first league game for the Titans.
