INCIDENT LOG
Editor's note: Most items in this section reflect the starting point for response by local police and emergency agencies. The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office does not release names of individuals who report possible criminal or suspicious activities to dispatchers or alleged victims for this column.
Sept. 26: Deputies investigated a caller's report that a strange man had been seen in a woodshed in the 700 block of Marshall Street in Davenport.
A couch and loveseat were found dumped on Brown Road East under the I-90 overpass.
Deputies investigated a trespassing incident reported in the 100 block of North Division Street in Odessa.
A caller reported hearing three gunshots at a mobile home park on SR 174 near Grand Coulee.
Juveniles are suspected in recent mischief involving the displacement of road signs at the Sprague City Park and rocks thrown on the grass outside City Hall.
Deputies, assisted by other agencies, pursued a stolen vehicle on several county roads north of and between Davenport and Reardan - and through adjacent fields - before losing sight of it near the Spokane County line north of Reardan. Undersheriff Kelly Watkins suffered lacerations and several broken ribs when the SUV he was driving went out of control and rolled at least twice into a field along Flood Road. The chase began after a homeowner north of Davenport caught a man leaving his house with items he placed into the vehicle before making a fast getaway.
Sept. 27: A garbage collector encountered what appeared to be a body in a ditch at Eleventh and Sinclair streets in Davenport, but closer observation revealed it was a dummy used in connection with the high school "Spirit Week" activities.
Loose horses are blamed for tearing up a haystack and fence on property along Spring Canyon Road.
Deputies investigated a burglary report from a residence in the 35000 block of Sherman Draw Road. Men's and women's jewelry were among items taken.
A Downs Road resident reported receiving several prank calls described as vulgar.
Sept. 28: About 300 feet of fencing had been knocked down or taken from property on Bluestem Road near Matherly Road.
Odessa Police investigated the theft of about 21 pain pills from a residence in the 400 block of East Third.
An Odessa man reported the theft of his cell phone during Deutschesfest.
Sept. 29: A residential burglary was reported in the 35000 block of Western Pines Drive near Davenport. Items missing included a spotting scope, air guns, screwdrivers and other tools.
Rocks were thrown through windows at the Deer Meadows golf course clubhouse.
Deputies responded to a verbal dispute involving two men in the 200 block of Marshall Street in Davenport.
A caller alerted dispatchers that a 14-year-old boy (unlicensed) may have been driving a van east on SR 2 from Wilbur.
Three juvenile boys seen with flashlights and hiding in bushes in the vicinity of Tenth and Main streets in Davenport turned out to be high school seniors "looking for freshmen."
Reardan Police assisted in transporting a possibly suicidal 31-year-old man to the Spokane Veterans Administration Medical Center and took charge of a firearm he had with him in his residence.
Sept. 30: A man wearing sunglasses knocked on the back door of an Olson Road residence, looked around the house and parked vehicles before leaving the property on back roads.
Known for chasing passing cars in the vicinity of Seventh and Lincoln streets in Davenport, a German shepherd dog went after a young girl out walking her dog. A deputy advised the owner to keep the dog inside or on a chain - and to purchase a city license.
Deputies responded to a domestic dispute in the 15000 block of Kunz Road East near Wilbur.
A collision involving a vehicle and deer took place on Nye Road just off Riffe Road.
Oct. 1: Someone took dishes from a yard sale table in the 900 block of Morgan Street in Davenport and smashed them in the street.
Deputies kept watch for a man who was observed camping near a woodpile at Davenport Building Supply.
A Sprague woman told dispatchers that a 12-year-old boy was "out of control," breaking things in the home.
About 12 rifles or shotguns were reported missing as a result of a residential burglary in the 43000 block of Zeimantz Road East near Davenport.
Deputies responded to a dispute between a woman and her 16-year-old son in the Lakeview Terrace area.
Oct. 2: A 22-year-old man was treated at Lincoln Hospital in Davenport after a motorcycle crash on Miles Creston Road about three miles from SR 2.
Minor damage to a vehicle resulted after a collision with a horse near the intersection of Seven Springs Dairy Road East and Telford Road.

Sept. 29: Eric G. Arnst, 48, Cheney, held under contract with City of Cheney for violating a court order, fourth-degree assault (domestic violence).
Sept. 30: Jeremy D. Gosser, 33, Cheney, confined 6 days for failing to comply with the court sentence for driving while license suspended.
Anibal P. Rojas, 28, Brewster, confined 2 days by the court for driving while under the influence.
