Junior-high football team gets first win, defeats Valley

The junior-high Titans led at the half by a score of 19-14, which was also the final score, as neither team was able to score in the second half.

Coach Larry Weber said quarterback Caleb Behrens of Harrington is starting to get comfortable running the no-huddle offense and making good decisions with the football. He also had a 65-yard rushing touchdown in the game.

Other high points were a 55-yard receiving touchdown by Colt Sanford and a 60-yard receiving touchdown by Dylan Shockley.

“Our line is becoming more consistent with their run and pass blocking. Defensive ends made some tackles for losses when they took care of their responsibilities,” said Weber.

Deep backs, especially John DeWulf, started to come forward and make tackles. Jacob Montgomery, the middle linebacker, put several hard hits on the Valley ball carriers.

“Overall the team is improving every week and becoming more confident and aggressive on the field,” Weber said.
