No Western Union office

Every so often someone comes into the offices of The Odessa Record and wants to know where their money is. Some friend or relative has wired them money through Western Union and The Odessa Record is affiliated with them, right? WRONG.

The Record processes Avista Utilities payments through equipment supplied by Western Union for that purpose only. The Record does not handle credit cards, debit cards or Western Union money transfers.

Those who search online for a Western Union location will find Odessa listed, but its only services are “Convenience Pay” (i.e., paying your Avista bill).

Where can you go for money transfers? US Bank locations in Ritzville, Harrington and Moses Lake all provide the service, as do Rite Aid and Safeway in Moses Lake.

We hope this clarifies things for those of you wanting to use Western Union services. We are sorry that we cannot provide additional services, but our time and staff are limited.
