INCIDENT LOG
Editor's note: Most items in this section reflect the starting point for response by local police and emergency agencies. The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office does not release names of individuals who report possible criminal or suspicious activities to dispatchers or alleged victims for this column.
Oct. 17: A collision involving a Washington State Patrol vehicle and a cow took place on Waukon Road just south of Tyler Road.
A property owner encountered trespassing hunters on land adjacent to Welch Creek Road North.
Deputies tracked a vehicle traveling on SR 231 north of Reardan that was thought to have been involved in a possible residential burglary in Stevens County.
Odessa Police investigated a report that a bad check was used to pay for a used ambulance valued at $800.
Odessa firefighters responded to a garage fire in the 100 block of West Sixth Avenue.
Reardan Police detained a man for marijuana possession during a traffic stop at the west end of SR 2.
A caller advised Reardan Police of a possible assault involving a man and a teenage boy at the high school. An investigation revealed the incident to be a parental discipline issue.
Oct. 18: To avoid a collision, a semi-truck driver was forced to lock its brakes after another vehicle pulled in front of the rig and into a business in the 300 block of Morgan Street in Davenport.
Deputies investigated a report of a dangerous dog in the vicinity of Sixth and Ross streets in Davenport.
A collision involving a vehicle and deer was reported on SR 2 at Ziemer Road east of Davenport.
The source of what was reported as a strong gas smell in the 900 block of Fifteenth Street in Davenport turned out to be a charcoal barbecue.
Oct. 19: A llama was observed crossing SR 2 at Waukon Road near Reardan.
Deputies responded to reports from two Davenport businesses that a driver left without paying for $16 in gas and of a commercial burglar alarm that had activated.
A Davenport man reported two checks totaling $650 had been written from his account without his permission.
Oct. 20: After a man was thwarted by workers as he attempted to leave garbage in a dumpster at the state Department of Transportation maintenance yard in Sprague, he threatened to dump the trash on a nearby county road. A responding deputy was unable to find the vehicle or any debris on that road.
A caller advised Davenport City Hall staff that a group of door-to-door salespeople were "going through town upsetting citizens" and didn't have a permit.
Deputies responded to an Edwall residence where a 15-year-old girl had reportedly threatened her parents after they refused to allow her to go to Spokane because of her school work.
A collision involving a vehicle and deer took place on SR 2 near Wilbur.
Oct. 21: Deputies investigated a narcotics case in the Davenport area.
A woman phoned in her concerns about a man driving an older gray car on SR 25 in search of Hume Road who, she thought, "might rob people in the area."
A one-vehicle collision was reported on Coffeepot Road near SR 21. The vehicle apparently missed a stop sign and drove straight across the highway. Three injured occupants were treated at Odessa Memorial Hospital.
A man reported a tool box containing tools was stolen from his pickup truck parked at Wollweber and Stolp roads. The total value of the loss was between $500 and $1,000.
A Davenport woman noticed a "strange animal flopping around" on a grassy area in the 500 block of Ross Street.
A Davenport woman reported someone attempted to enter a shed on property in the 20 block of Merriam Street.
Two sets of headlights and people shooting guns were observed by a caller at an old gun range west of Harrington near SR 28.
A caller told Wilbur Police about an occupied school bus that was speeding on SR 2 westbound into Wilbur.
Odessa Police responded to a report of an obstruction (an empty gas can) placed on Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad track about a quarter-mile from the Marjorie and Division street crossing.
Oct. 22: A man reported that a window on a truck camper had been broken out by a rock and entry made to a truck camper parked on Johns Rocky Way near Hawk Creek Road.
A man reported seeing two men wearing hunter orange shooting at pheasants from the roadway in the vicinity of SR 2 and 174.
A motorcyclist suffered a broken hand, along with hip and back pain, after a collision on SR 25 about 16½ miles north of Davenport.
A family of four was left without their home and family dog after a fire consumed a house, garage and 5th wheel trailer on Alexander Road west of Reardan. No one was injured. The fire was believed caused by an electrical problem.
An Odessa man reported a buck had been shot by trespassing hunters on property off Quast Road.
A deputy intervened in a loud verbal confrontation between two Harrington men.
A man and woman were arrested for possession of heroin during a traffic stop on SR 2 near Reardan.
Wilbur Police responded to a mobile home park attendant's request for assistance with an unwanted person who had failed to pay rent.
Oct. 23: Deputies investigated a possible break-in at an Arrowhead Drive residence and harassment involving two individuals.
A caller from the Devils Gap area described finding logs over a hole containing garbage bags and what appeared to be infant clothing. A responding deputy discovered a dead animal in that location near the Avista station.
A caller told dispatchers that four men got out of a vehicle, urinated on his property adjacent to SR 174 near Wilbur, and left behind several beer cans.

Oct. 17: Theodore R. Bourbonnie, 43, Kent, Wash., confined by Washington State Department of Corrections for escape from community custody.
Oct. 18: Maria V. Sanchez, 27, Riverside, confined by the court for failing to appear for driving while license suspended and making a false statement to a law enforcement officer.
Oct. 19: Glen M. Phanco, 33, Spokane, confined by the court for driving while under the influence.
Michael N. Ingham, 59, Bremerton, arrested by Lincoln County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) for driving while under the influence.

Civil Judgments
A July 12 default judgment from Lincoln County District Court in favor of Portfolio Recovery Associates against John P. and "Jane Doe" Black was filed with the Superior Court.
Seth T. Dunlap, of Lincoln, must pay $1,422.26 in obligations to the Washington State Department of Employment Security.
Mathew N. Bigelow, of Davenport, must pay $3,655.30 in obligations to the Washington State Department of Employment Security.
Damon L. Miller, of Davenport, must pay $3,949.34 in obligations to the Washington State Department of Employment Security.
Cheyenne R. Baird, of Odessa, must pay $5,997.46 in obligations to the Washington State Department of Employment Security.

State Farm Fire and Casualty Co. won a default judgment of $62,614.15 plus interest, costs and fees from John K. Gooch, whose last known address was in Shelton, Wash., who was alleged to have taken a vehicle without the owner's permission that later was involved in a collision on May 11 of last year.
New Criminal Cases
Jason Robert Fowler, 36, Spokane Valley, is charged with residential burglary and attempting to elude a police pursuit in connection with a high-speed chase involving several Lincoln County deputies, municipal police officers and the Washington State Patrol on Sept. 26. The incident began with a report from a homeowner that a man threw items from his West Pines Drive residence, 10 miles north of Davenport, into a vehicle, then sped off heading south on SR 25. During the ensuing pursuit, Undersheriff Kelly Watkins suffered several broken ribs in a rollover. Spokane officers arrested Fowler on Oct. 6 and he is currently housed in the Spokane County Jail.
Angela Kaye Tuller, 47, Bellingham, Wash., is charged with possession of heroin in connection with the discovery of the substance while she was booked into jail May 24 after a SR 2 speeding stop by the Washington State Patrol.
New Civil Case
John W. Coppersmith, Cindy Edwards and the Vernon P. Coppersmith Estate seek quiet title of property in Almira from the Maurice J. Hyde Estate and others.
Juvenile Offender Matter
Lincoln County took over supervision from Okanogan County for John Michael Bowers, 16, formerly of Tonasket, who pleaded guilty and was sentenced in May for possession of cocaine, harassment, obstructing a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.

Michelle Danielle Leininger, Riverside, driving while license suspended, pleaded guilty, 5 days jail (credited as served), $393 court assessments, 12 months supervised and 12 months unsupervised probation.
Small Claims Court
Respondent Holly L. Schillinger prevailed in a matter brought by Blane Hendrickson seeking $1,805 in attorney fees resulting from his arrest following what he characterized as the respondent's "false claim" to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office that he had assaulted her. Both are Davenport residents.
