Wilbur-Creston defeated Odessa-Harrington’s volleyball team Saturday, October 29, in a grueling 5-game match, 30-28, 23-25, 25-13, 22-25 and 15-6. Despite the loss, the Titans played arguably their best match of the season, never giving up, fighting for every point.
Hailey Williams and Charli Moffet led at service, with 16-0 and 21-0, respectively. Amanda Hardt served three aces.
Chelsea Fisher had a total of 20 kills, followed by Kendall Todd with 8. Moffet set up 32 kill assists.
Fisher also had a season-high 9 blocks, and Todd added another 4.
On defense, Jordyn Tanke contributed 23 digs, followed by Lexi Hirst with 15, Todd with 11, Moffet with 9, and Kira Powell with 7.
Tanke (27-3) had 90% on serve receive, and Koralynne Kuch (8-1) made 89%.
Titan coach Ken Scherr said that “The girls played hard and will go into district as the Bi-County #3 seed. We play Wellpinit Thursday (November 3) at Coulee City at 3:30. If we win, we play Cusick at 5:30. If we win, we play ACH at 7:30.”
