Titans pounded by bigger, stronger, faster NB rivals

The Odessa-Harrington Titans traveled to Moses Lake to play the Neah Bay Red Devils in the semi-finals championship game. In the first 83 seconds of the game, the Red Devils were ahead 12-0 and forced two fumbles on the Titans’ first two plays with the ball. Jared King (7) and Brett Larmer (12) both fumbled, and each time the ball was recovered for a score. We lost 34-74 in the middle of the 3rd quarter. Our offensive line was disastrous, and we just didn’t play as though we really wanted the win enough.

Ever since those two very early fumbles in the game, the Titans were able to catch up but never take the lead.

The Titans did play okay, but the Red Devils completely outplayed us in every aspect of the game – but passing.

King played a good game. He ran for a couple touchdowns and passed for a couple. The season MVP award goes to quarterback King for leading us to the semi-finals with his quarterback play, his rushing ability and leadership on defense.

The season is over, and it couldn’t have ended on a more terrible note. Next year we will lose Larmer, but I feel we will be more formidable next season with King, Justin Hunt (24), Markus Smith (8) and Cade Weber (3) all progressing.

Thanks to everybody who has read my articles and an early Merry Christmas!
