The Titan girls varsity basketball team led by 10 at half-time, only to face what looked like a completely different team in the third quarter.

The Lady Gorillas from Davenport came storming back, pounding the Titans 29-6 in the third quarter alone to take the lead by a large margin. They never relinquished it.

The O-H girls gave the ball away far too many times with bad passes and unnecessary fouls. They are a very young team, however, with only two seniors and three juniors in the entire lineup.

Harrington sophomore Cydnee Kieffer led the scoring for the Titans with 13 points. Charli Moffet, Rebekah Marshall and Jordyn Tanke added five apiece, and Jessi Whitaker, Kendall Todd and Chelsea Fisher had four apiece. Katelyn Worley added two more. Hannah Schmidt also played, coming in as relief but not scoring.

The game’s leading scorer was Davenport’s Miranda Meilke who pumped in 24 points. Kylie Hudkins-Shelton added another 10, while Maranda Brantly and Allison Johnson each scored 6. Natalee Hayes had 5, Sidney Cole and Andie Strite 4 each, Morgan Abbott 2 and Sami Kaiser 1.

Girls JV

The girls JV game started out well for the Titans. They kept pace with the Gorillas and at half time had a slight lead. As in the varsity game, the Gorillas turned out to be a second-half team. The final score was Titans 27, Gorillas 44.
