Banners made for the gyms of both the Odessa and Harrington schools are in memory of the late Merlin K. Jantz, a dedicated fan of high-school sports his entire life.
The Odessa and Harrington school districts, their combined athletic programs and the O-H Athletic Booster Club purchased Titan banners dedicated to the memory of Merlin K. Jantz.
Jantz died September 10 of this year at his home near Odessa at the age of 83. He was a lifelong resident of the Odessa and Harrington areas. He began school in Harrington, later on going to Odessa and graduating from Odessa High in 1946.
His classmate from the class of ‘46, Norma Carlson, became his wife and bore him four children, all of whom graduated from Odessa High. Even after his children had graduated and flow...
