The Washington State Patrol reported that on December 19, 2011, the Reardan town marshall was involved in a shooting at the Reardan cemetery.
Just after 11 a.m., the Town Marshall contacted a suspicious vehicle that was parked in the cemetery. During the initial contact, shots were exchanged between a male suspect and the town marshall. The male suspect is deceased at the scene, and the town marshall was not injured.
The critical incident protocol was invoked by the Lincoln County Sheriff, and the Spokane Investigative Regional Response Team (SIRR) was dispatched to the scene.
