First win for girls basketball in non-league varsity game

O-H vs. Soap Lake
Last Saturday night, December 17, the non-league contest in Odessa between Odessa-Harrington and the Soap Lake Eagles gave the Titan girls their first win of the season.

Kendall Todd led the team scoring with 15, but nearly everyone else also scored, and every team member got to play. Jessie Whitaker had 9, Cydnee Kieffer 8, Charli Moffet 8, Chelsea Fisher 6, Rebekah Marshall 5, Katelyn Worley 4, Jordyn Tanke 2 and Hannah Schmidt 1.
Carley Williams also came off the bench late in the varsity game at point guard. Having played that position for much of the girls junior-varsity game, her playing time on varsity was limited.
Girls JV
The girls JV team also won their game, 36-10, against a Soap Lake team that had only seven girls on its roster, three of them 8th-graders.
The Soap Lake basketball program appears to be in a rebuilding phase, with only one senior on the team, the rest freshmen and juniors, along with one sophomore .
O-H vs. Cusick
Friday night, December 16, in Harrington, the Titan girls played another home game, this one against the Cusick Panthers. The O-H girls battled hard. At one point in the game, two of them collided, and Charli Moffet gave everyone a scare, as she was not quick to get back up. After a few minutes, however, she was helped to her feet by her father, Larry Moffet, and escorted to the Titan bench. Later in the game, she returned to play.

Cusick’s Haley Adams led all scorers with 17. Whitaker led the Titans with 12. Moffett had 7, Todd 6, Marshall 0, Schmidt 2, Williams 0, Kieffer 2, Fisher 0 and Tanke 10.
Girls JV
The girls JV team defeated the Panther girls JV, 32-22. Lanessa Simon had 10 points, Katelyn Worley 8, Jordyn Tanke 4, Carley Williams 3, Ashley Barstaad 2, Jenna Schafer 2, Chelsea Fisher 2, and Hannah Schmidt 1.
