INCIDENT LOG
Editor's note: Most items in this section reflect the starting point for response by local police and emergency agencies. The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office does not release names of individuals who report possible criminal or suspicious activities to dispatchers or alleged victims for this column.
Dec. 26: After discovering an abandoned rolled over vehicle along Devils Gap Road, deputies learned that according to a text message received by a woman from her son, the driver, the Chevrolet pickup truck had apparently been run off the road.
A verbal dispute between three women spilled over from the Lincoln Hospital lobby to the parking lot, prompting a request from hospital personnel for assistance from law enforcement. After deputies arrived, a man was arrested for fourth-degree assault.
Deputies and Sprague firefighters responded to where someone had apparently been illegally burning trash at an old dumpsite along Sprague Highway Road just north of Lake Valley Loop.
Odessa Police investigated a break-in at Odessa Drug, where someone knocked out shatter-resistant glass and stole hydrocodone from the store.
Dec. 27: Reports of individuals fishing or playing on the ice at Sprague Lake were taken.
Dispatchers recorded a report of a verbal argument between individuals at Lakeview Terrace mobile home park near Grand Coulee.
Extensive damage was reported to a guardrail on the Miles Creston Road.
Reardan Police investigated a marijuana possession incident at Laurel Street and Broadway Avenue.
Dec. 28: Extremely slick conditions were reported on Green Canyon Road near its intersection with Mill Canyon Road.
Deputies handled two collisions on SR 236. The first was a one-vehicle rollover on SR 231 at milepost 36; the second a slide-off on SR 231 about a mile north of SR 2.
Residents of Roosevelt View Drive and Sterling Valley Road reported they found mailboxes pushed over, along with a broken post, and others ajar. One box ended up in a ditch.
A caller reported someone shooting at ducks from a boat on the water on Hawk Creek near the campground.
A Eagle Springs Road resident advised someone in Michigan had used his debit and credit card fraudulently.
Dec. 29: Three hunters in a red Jeep were observed driving around the Seven Bays community in pursuit of a deer.
An 18-year-old Davenport man told dispatchers he wasn't sure why Avista bills were coming in his name to a Maxwell Street residence.
An "extreme noise," possibly from a failed bearing, was reported from grain elevators at Fifth and Jefferson streets in Davenport.
Deputies investigated a possible burglary reported from a residence on SW First Avenue in Creston.
A Reardan man advised police about receiving numerous phone calls from a "fraud division" that asked him for information about a neighbor.
Dec. 30: Power was restored to an Edwall residence after a man who lives there advised dispatchers he was on oxygen and bottled air.
A Creston woman reported someone used her welfare card fraudulently for $5.
National Park Service personnel located an overdue vessel with three individuals aboard after it didn't return to the Spring Canyon launch when expected.
Deputies investigated a possible drug overdose reported behind the North Basin Medical Clinic in Davenport. An individual was transported to Lincoln Hospital.
Dec. 31: A loose dog was reported to have chased people on First and Main streets in Davenport.
A report of a structure fire at Summers Lane and Spring Canyon Road turned out to be false.
Deputies responded to a reported assault involving a man and his son at a Maxwell Street residence in Davenport.
One or two barricades were reported taken from west of Davenport on SR 2; one was located on Teel Hill Road.
Wilbur Police responded to a report of yelling at a house east of the Lutheran church on SE Trinity.
Jan. 1: Three people were killed and two others injured in a two-vehicle head-on collision on SR 2 about three miles east of Reardan near Virgil Road during the early hours of the morning. Lincoln Hospital provided care for the two victims that survived.
Five young adults were injured in a one-vehicle rollover accident in the early morning hours on Flood Road near Reardan. All were taken at first to Lincoln Hospital in Davenport. The possible role of alcohol in the mishap is under investigation by deputies.
A possibly intoxicated woman was on foot headed to Harrington after being "verbally assaulted" by her husband at a Davenport tavern.
A Davenport man reported damage to a pickup truck, including keying and a broken driver's side mirror, while parked outside a residence on Main Street.
A woman reported the theft of several items from a residence on Fancher Road East.
After what appeared to be a verbal incident between a man and woman at a Reardan residence, deputies returned to the scene when the reportedly "aggressive" and "highly uncooperative" man appeared to be involved in an altercation with a Reardan officer.
Possible spotlighting involving two vehicles on Blomgren Road was reported.
