Bill Schillinger, a graduate of Odessa High School and currently a professor and research agronomist at the Washington State University Dryland Research Station at Lind, was one of the featured speakers at the workshop.
The Oilseed Crop Production Workshop held in the Odessa Community Center Tuesday, January 24, was a day-long effort to educate and encourage area farmers to add canola to their crop rotation with wheat.
About 65 people from throughout the Inland Empire attended the event, which began at 7:30 a.m. with registration, refreshments and time to visit with vendors who had set up informational booths. Inland Empire Oilseeds also provided guided tours of its Odessa plant during this time.
