Head coach for Titan girls sums up last few BB games

After losing a hard fought game to the Wellpinit Redskins on February 8, the Odessa-Harrington Girls basketball team matched up against the Inchelium Hornets the following Saturday, February 11.

The Titans started out hot with five different girls scoring in the first quarter to lead 12-3. The intense man-to-man defense frustrated the Hornets and kept them from running an offense. In the second quarter, several Titan players were in foul trouble, which gave an opportunity for some younger players to make a valuable contribution to the team. Both teams struggled with scoring, and at halftime Odessa-Harrington led 17-7.

Inchelium came out and attacked the basket in the second half and managed to get to the free throw line 11 times in the fourth quarter, closing the game to 6 points. Fortunately, the Titans were able to make their own free throws down the stretch and continued to play good defense. They were able to increase their lead to get the win, 32-23.

The Titans had outstanding defensive play from Kendall Todd and Jordyn Tanke who held Inchelium’s lead scorer, Olivia Williams, to just one point. Kendall Todd also led the Titans with 8 points and 11 rebounds. Charli Moffet also played very well, managing to grab 11 rebounds and go to the free throw line a team-high 10 times.
