Local trapshooting teams still cling to second place

Going into Week 8 of the annual Spokesman Review Trapshoot, Marlin-Odessa still sat in second place, one point behind the Colton Gun Club and one point ahead of Garfield-St. John.

Marlin

Changeable weather still saw large numbers of trapshooters at the Marlin Gun Club February 26 when 62 shooters turned out in 39 squads.

The only 25 was shot by Alex Ames.

Shooting 24 were Dave Lang, Bill James, Mark Iksic, Doug Starkel, Mike Christ, Camden Eckhart and Kurt Moore.

Scott Mortimer, Ken Thompson, Mark Edwins and Donna Thrall all shot 23.

Shooting 22 were Ron Lesser, Dusty Kimble and Alex King.

Ken Eckhart, Jeff Norley, Matt Mortimer, Tyler Greenwalt, Lynette Nelson and Josh Gray each shot 21.

Shooting 20 and under were Travis Iksic, Dave Asker, Carmen Eckhart, Austin Nelson, Daryl Kimble, Keith Lenssen, Artie Ribail, Mackenzie Bemis, Jake Bennett, Mark Brashear, Jason Ellsworth, Scott Heimbigner, Doug Brashear, Carl Nations, Susan James, Cody Kamstra, Kevin Burck, Mark Janett, Rick Kamstra, Gage Starkel, Chase Janett, Keeva Kimble, Pam Brashear, Emily Allen, Jordan James, Shelbey Brashear, Genn Gray, Jakob Starkel, Kaden Johnson, Kemper Reynolds, Griffey Powell, Steve Powell, Daton Garnes, Derik Burck, Loren Totusek, Tucker Janett, Chris Helgeson, Gary Potter, Drew Graves, Amber Harmon and Julie Iksic.

High Handicap winner was Kurt Moore, and Ken Eckhart, Matt Mortimer, Doug Starkel and Dave Lang all tied for second.

Miss-n-Out winners were Bill James (1st) and Dave Lang (2nd).

Annie Oakley winner was Jason Ellsworth. High lady was Donna Thrall and high youth was Alex King.

Odessa

The Odessa Gun Club turned in three perfect scores, with Landon Lobe, Bryce Haase and Traig Weishaar shooting 25.

Shooting 24 were Nick Tebow and Sam Greenwalt.

Tyler Smith, Ryan Lewis, Harley Wraspir and Wyatt Haase each shot 23.

Shooting 22 were Jared Praetorious, Brady Gies and Randy Gies.

Justin Hunt, Tom Schuh, Hailey Williams and Bill Weber shot 21.

Shooting 20 and under were Mike Nichols, Jr., Colley Walter, Doug Tebow, Stacey Hunt, Markham Nichols, Mike Nichols, Sr., Larry Weber, Andrew Holman, Nick Nelson, Colton Hunt, Hunter Bramer, Max Greenwalt, William Mann, Aaron Gies, Lane Lobe, Jaden Hunt, Camden Weber, Danielle Tebow, Pilot Weishaar, Jenny Larmer, Brandon Larmer, Halee Walter and Garrett Braun.

High Handicap winner was Markham Nichols, and Brady Gies took both High Doubles and High Continental.

High Junior was Nick Tebow.

Miss-N-Out winners were Tom Schuh (1st) and Sam Greenwalt (2nd). Annie Oakley winner was Colley Walter, and Wyatt Haase was Bushwhacker.
