Serving Lincoln County for more than a century!
The Odessa Record has been doing a great job keeping us up to date on the March 3 Republican Caucuses. One last reminder – there will be NO PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY in 2012. The caucus is your only chance to express a preference for the 2012 Republican Presidential nominee. If you don’t like the straw poll results when they are reported Saturday night on the news, no complaining if you didn’t take time to participate Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to noon.
Here is the key: You can only participate if you go to the correct caucus location, based on the precinct where you are registered to vote. If you do not know the name or number of your precinct, go the Secretary of State’s website at https://wei.secstate.wa.gov/olvrsite/. To figure out which one of the three pooled caucus locations you are assigned to, go to the Washington State Republican Party website at http://wsrpcaucus.tumblr.com/. If you turn up at the wrong caucus location, you will be welcome to listen as a guest but you will not be able to participate in the straw poll or election of delegates.
The pooled caucuses are grouped by the current County Commissioner Districts. District 1 meets at the Old Town Hall, Odessa. District 2 meets at the Lincoln County Courthouse, Davenport. District 3 meets at the Wilbur Community Center. Any questions, feel free to call me at 509-236-2311.
