INCIDENT LOG
Editor's note: Most items in this section reflect the starting point for response by local police and emergency agencies. The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office does not release names of individuals who report possible criminal or suspicious activities to dispatchers or alleged victims for this column.
March 12: City of Davenport personnel reported receiving a check for insufficient funds.
A dispute about dogs between neighbors in the Mohler area continued, with a caller advising dispatchers that his wife almost put a car in the ditch to avoid hitting a dog in the roadway.
Vehicles traveling on McInnis Road near Davenport are "tearing up the road," a caller reported.
Deputies investigated a hit and run incident in the 900 block of Maxwell Street in Davenport.
A resident of Johns Rocky Way advised that he had received harassing telephone calls.
No one was reported hurt as a result of a one-vehicle collision on Miles Creston Road about 1½ miles from SR 2.
A non-injury rollover accident was reported on Old Coulee Road about six miles north of Almira.
A Sprague man sought advice from deputies about a dispute with his brother over property after their father's death.
A semi-truck traveling west on SR 174 lost a wheel and tire and was partially blocking the roadway.
Deputies were unable to locate a vehicle traveling west on SR 2 near Davenport that had reportedly passed several vehicles in an unsafe manner.
Reardan Police responded to the high school where a student was allegedly in possession of drugs after a "drug dog" discovered marijuana there.
March 13: A caller reported that a bright red pickup truck had traveled through fields in the 15000 block of Wollweber Road near Edwall.
Deputies investigated a report of a motor vehicle theft from the 100 block of A Street in Creston.
A caller advised she heard gunshot-like sounds from the 1000 block of Ninth Street in Davenport.
Odessa Police responded to a domestic violence report at an East Marjorie Avenue residence, but found no evidence of assault.
Three hay bales dropped into the roadway on SR 231 just north of Rife Road in the Reardan area.
March 14: A woman traveling on SR 28 to Davenport advised that a semi-truck had passed her vehicle after tailgating it, then slowed down, forcing her to pass. The truck passed her again and rocks were kicked up onto her car.
A woman became suspicious after being contacted at her rural residence near Reardan by a life insurance salesman who wouldn't produce identification after she requested it.
March 15: Deputies investigated possible child abuse in the Davenport and Edwall areas.
A collision involving a vehicle and deer took place on SR 2 near Fichtenburg Road.
Deputies investigated a burglary in Davenport.
Wilbur Police received a call from a woman in the 100 block of SE Pope who said someone was knocking on her doors and windows.
Reardan firefighters were dispatched to Laurel and Lake streets to deal with a transformer on fire.
March 16: A Burlington Northern crew was sent to Coleman and Bluestem roads to deal with a malfunctioning railroad crossing arm.
A man was taken into custody for driving while under the influence after a collision on SR 231 and Euclid Road.
A caller reported llamas were loose in the 400 block of Jump Street in Creston.
"Considerable damage" was reported to a Davenport man's vehicle that had been involved in a collision. The owner wasn't sure when the incident occurred.
March 17: Three deputies responded to a Wilbur woman's report of a domestic incident that involved her child. The officers brought the situation under control, separated the parties involved and made sure the child was safe.
Davenport firefighters responded to a report of power lines knocked down by a falling tree in the 600 block of Thirteenth Street. Avista Utilities crewmen repaired the damage.
A caller reported an assault involving a female student at Harrington School.
A truck went off Hawk Creek Ranch Road and hit a few trees, causing extensive damage to the roof and side panels. No one was reported hurt.
March 18: Dispatchers were told about a loud and lengthy argument between individuals inside a residence in the 400 block of Morgan Street in Davenport.
Malicious mischief was reported along Leffel Road between Cemetery to Mayberry roads. The segment was subsequently closed by the county Public Works Department for an inspection of damage.
An Almira man reported that his and neighbors' mailboxes in the 500 block of West Elm had been run over and left on the roadway. Pieces of a side mirror from a vehicle were also found in the area.
Davenport city crewmen responded to a water leak in the vicinity of Tenth and Maxwell streets.
Ambulance personnel assisted an 89-year-old man who fell at his East Gunning Road residence.
