The Titan golf team traveled to Colfax for a 9-hole match with a shotgun start at 2:30. It was a pleasant surprise to find the weather was very nice, about 55 degrees and no wind. The competition was played under winter rules due to the course being very wet.
The Colfax Golf Course is a 9-hole par 35 course.
Colfax took the match with a score of 214, followed by Odessa-Harrington with 240, Northwest Christian and Inchelium each with 292.
Three Colfax boys tied for medalist with 40 each. Titan boys scored as follows: Nick Nelson 45, Kelby Braun 48, Madison Charlton 48, Joe Cronrath 49, Ricky Hedreen 50, Chris Hansen 52, Zach Schaal 53, William Mann 54, Trevor King 57, Griffey Powell 59, Thorsen Wehr 60, Bo Gunning 66 and James Smith 66.
The hightlight of the day for the Titans was girls medalist Kira Powell’s performance. She shot a 37 to win the girls division by a large margin. Hailey Williams Made a good showing for only her second competitive match in golf, with a 59. Isabelle Phillips, an 8th grader from Harrington shot a 65 her first ever golf match.
There were not enough competitors on any one girls team for team scores.
The Titans have the week of spring break off with no matches but resume play with an 18-hole match for the top 6 players on April 10 in Colville and a 9-hole match in Harrington on April 12.
