INCIDENT LOG

Editor's note: Most items in this section reflect the starting point for response by local police and emergency agencies. The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office does not release names of individuals who report possible criminal or suspicious activities to dispatchers or alleged victims for this column.

April 30: A caller reported a theft of fuel at the I-90 rest area near Sprague.

Deputies and Mental Health personnel responded to a Davenport caller's advisory that a female friend wanted to harm herself.

A collision involving a vehicle and deer took place on SR 2 near Davenport.

A caller told dispatchers that someone opened a PayPal account in his name without permission and charged $400 to it.

Deputies investigated a burglary report from property on SR 25 about 15 miles north of Davenport. The door to the house had been kicked in, a lock on a gate cut and the door to the barn opened.

A Sprague woman reported her vehicle appeared to have been broken into while parked in the 600 block of West 3rd Avenue.

Deputies returned a foster child to the Davenport area residence where she lives.

A man was treated at Lincoln Hospital after being run over by a vehicle that caught fire on Teel Hill Road north of Davenport.

Reardan Police investigated the possible theft of scrap metal from the railroad in Davenport after stopping a truck on Broadway Avenue.

May 1: A caller expressed concern about a suspicious pickup truck that stopped at places along Bull Run Road north of Reardan.

Asking for assistance, a Bluestem area resident described his concern that Burlington Northern Santa Fe hasn't been maintaining fences on the right-of-way as he believes is required by state law.

A Reardan man requested help with a 16-year-old boy who is cutting on his arms.

Deputies responded to a report of a hay theft from property along SR 2 just east of Wilbur.

Odessa Police responded to a report of unwanted individuals inside a home on East Marjorie Avenue.

May 2: A Davenport woman reported her dog had been attacked by a pit bull in the 100 block of West Eleventh Street. The offending dog also chased a cat up a telephone pole. A responding city employee had to hit the pit bull to get it to retreat after charging him.

Deputies investigated a narcotics incident.

Odessa Police responded to reported threats at the biodiesel plant.

A woman in a car parked behind the Odessa T-ball field was advised by an officer to pour out an open can of beer she was allegedly drinking.

May 3: Deputies determined that a caller's claim of finding marijuana plants in a yard on West Glover in Harrington was unfounded.

A cell phone was recovered from a mail drop box at the Davenport Post Office and returned to its owner.

A caller asked for patrols in the morning and afternoon, when Sprague High School students are driving at unsafe speeds on Fourth and Fifth streets.

Davenport Food Mart reported the theft of $65 in gas.

A man reported the theft of items from his storage units on the west end of Creston.

Deputies responded to a report that a juvenile female had been assaulted in Davenport.

Reardan Police took a theft report involving a missing i-Phone from the high school gym.

A juvenile suspect was released to his parents' custody after Reardan Police responded to a report that a high school student was in possession of a dangerous weapon on campus.

May 4: Reports of soft shoulders and washboard conditions on Miles Creston Road were received.

Two vehicles collided near Davenport Food Mart.

A shadow and a transformer problem were believed responsible for twice setting off an alarm at the Wilbur Town Hall.

May 5: Malfunctioning railroad crossing arms were reported at Sunset Highway and Level Road.

Garbage and glass were reported all over the roadway on SR 2 near Davenport. Elsewhere, a load of hay fell on the highway.

A Davenport woman told dispatchers that embers from a neighbor's burn fell on her patio. Local firefighters were sent to the scene.

May 6: A single vehicle rollover accident took place on SR 2.

Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad police asked for assistance with campers in tents near tracks along I-90 in the vicinity of Lake and Gheres roads just inside Lincoln County. Later, railroad personnel reported that individuals appeared to be "playing chicken" and "trying to see how close to the track they could stand without getting hit by a passing train."

A collision involving a car and an animal was reported on SR 2 near Wilbur.

At a Reardan restaurant, a deputy caught up with a vehicle that had traveled at very slow speeds on SR 2, forcing several cars to pass. The officer found the woman at the wheel smoking and drinking in the eatery's parking lot.

A deputy persuaded the driver of an erratic semi-truck on SR 28 in Davenport to stop and rest for awhile.

A semi-truck pulling a trailer was spotted driving aggressively, tailgating and passing other vehicles on SR 2 near Janett Road.

A vehicle on private property in the 2000 block of Stromberger Road caught fire.

A woman was observed walking through Odessa Union Warehouse property and loitering near Harrington City Hall. She later told deputies she had argued with her son-in-law and left.

A caller expressed concern about a minivan on a flatbed tow truck that appeared it might come off the trailer while traveling from Reardan to Davenport on SR 2.

A deputy investigated a report of a juvenile in possession of a handgun.

Odessa Police found a 3½-year-old inside a South 5th Street residence after being missing about an hour since the child apparently wandered off.

Reardan Police investigated a possession of drug paraphernalia incident during a traffic stop at SR 2 and Waukon Road.

Justin S. Goetz, 31, Odessa, confined 80 days by the court for fourth-degree assault (domestic violence).

May 1: Timothy M. Haugen, 44, homeless, held under contract with the Washington State Department of Corrections.

A restraining order against the respondent was issued in a related domestic violence matter and the court also ordered an accounting of the couple's assets and liabilities, including those associated with their business, Alder Street Fitness and Tanning in Odessa. Property in the gym was to remain there until a final decision is made by the court.

Northwest Construction and Concrete, of Ritzville, must pay $4,883.45 in unpaid worker compensation taxes to the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries.

In a Spokane County Superior Court judgment also filed in Lincoln County, Myrtle C. Glinski and Gary B. Martin, doing business as The Viking in Sprague, must pay $5,243.90 in unpaid taxes to the Washington State Department of Revenue.

New Juvenile Offender Case

An 18-year-old Reardan boy is charged with delivery of a Schedule II narcotic (Lisdexamfetamine) to a female student during a lunch period at Reardan High School. The girl was transported by ambulance to a hospital after she allegedly took pills on March 16.

New Civil Case

Joe Larson seeks return of premises at 109 West 5th Avenue in Sprague and payment of $1,800 rent from Tammy Donovan. In her response, Donovan claims she was promised credits for time and money she says she spent "making the place habitable" and alleges the petitioner bears responsibility for her losing her place in a housing assistance program.
