The Odessa Town Council met Monday night to deal with routine matters affecting the community.

Town fire chief Don Strebeck told the Council that, after expenses, the consignment equipment auction held during Spring Fling made about $8,500 for his department. The auction drew 83 bidders present, vying for 100 lots of varying types of equipment.

Strebeck also said that the department has purchased 14 sets of self-contained breathing appatus and 26 air tanks. He said he was able to get a reduced price on the tanks, which are new and carry a 15-year service life. They must be hydr...
