The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office does not release names of individuals who report possible criminal or suspicious activities to dispatchers or alleged victims for this column.
May 21: Dispatchers learned of a verbal dispute between a man and his baby's mother in the Creston area.
A Circle Road resident reported people were shooting from the roadway and noticed after a vehicle left the scene that a road sign had fresh bullet holes in it.
Davenport and Reardan residents should expect solicitors from Stryke Alarms, a company associated with Honeywell, which obtained the proper permit from both city halls.
A resident of Moore Road reported seeing a "suspicious" man in a neighbor's yard.
A Wilbur woman told local police about a horse that continually gets out and comes into her yard in the 800 block of SW Alder.
May 22: A woman told dispatchers that her car window broke after she was passed by a gravel truck on SR 174 near Wilbur.
A Davenport woman said someone used her bank account to send checks of $2,000 each to about 20 people.
A resident on Schlimmer Road reported receiving a call from someone claiming to be her grandson who wanted about $1,100 sent to him in Spain, where he had been in a vehicle collision and in a hospital. Her own subsequent contact with her grandson revealed the report was fraudulent. Fortunately, she hadn't sent any money.
Deputies responded to a report of a "highly agitated" man breaking household items at a residence in the 800 block of Logan Street in Davenport.
More road signs were reported stolen in the Bluestem area.
A caller said a black Corvette passed 10 cars all at once and was going at 100 mph on SR 2 east of Davenport. A responding deputy clocked the vehicle at 60 at Jannet Road.
Wilbur Police investigated a burglary report involving two storage units on SE Anne Street. A workout bench and a pair of gloves were reported missing.
Reardan Police investigated vandalism at the town park at Spokane and Maple.
May 23: Trader's Express in Davenport reported receiving about $220 in checks that a bank later refused to process.
A Davenport woman reported identity theft, telling dispatchers that she received phone calls from "Web USA" that had all of her bank account information and Social Security identification. She advised that no money had yet been taken from her account.
Deputies investigated a reported theft of prescription medication in Harrington.
Wheatland Bank employees shared their concern about a man in a white van parked near the Davenport branch that seemed to be watching them leave.
A collision involving a vehicle and deer was reported at the SR 2 weigh station west of Reardan. Damage was sufficient to require a tow truck be sent.
Wilbur Police investigated the theft of 7,750 gallons of aviation fuel worth about $4,456.25 from the local airport. A hose to the jet fuel had been cut.
May 24: Wheatland Bank personnel in Davenport found themselves dealing with a woman with a heavy accent "speaking the Word of God."
A collision involving a vehicle and deer was reported on SR 2.
Deputies investigated a harassment and fourth-degree assault incident in the 500 block of First Street in Sprague.
Odessa Police investigated reports of forgery and theft, including the taking of about 10 old battery cores valued at $100 from a pallet outside the NAPA store on South Division Street.
Reardan Police responded to a report of a severely neglected dog on West Cottonwood.
May 25: A Davenport man told dispatchers about a missing or stolen gun.
A Bluestem resident advised that vehicles were speeding through the 35 mph zone west of the grange hall.
An Almira woman asked for assistance from a deputy as she planned to dismiss a male employee operating heavy equipment after consuming alcohol.
A resident of Hudkins Road reported someone had cashed two of his checks in Columbus, Ohio, without his authorization.
May 26: BNSF railroad crossing guards were reported down at Birch and Alder streets in Odessa.
May 27: Davenport ambulance personnel were dispatched to the 300 block of Washington Street to assist a man who stumbled, fell and was unconscious.
After she hadn't heard from her grandmother in about a week, a woman's request that an ambulance be sent to a residence on Coal Creek Road near Harrington was granted. The elderly woman was transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.
After a vehicle struck a turkey vulture on SR 231 north of Reardan, a male occupant got out of the car to look for the bird. A deputy later joined the search, but the bird was never found.
A woman who had just purchased a residential unit on West Third in Sprague was surprised to discover a man was apparently living in a garage apartment there.
A loose goat was observed in the Stockland Livestock Exchange parking lot in Davenport.
