Patricia "Lorraine" Goetz

On June 20, 2012 our loving mother Patricia “Lorraine “ Goetz passed away in Spokane, Washington with her family at her side.

She was born in Marlin, Wash. on December 31, 1924. She graduated from Marlin High School in 1942 and attended Whitworth College. On April 27, 1946 she married the love of her life Richard, “Dick” Goetz.

Lorraine was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church and was the church organist. She was former President of the Odessa PTA, President of 4-H Leader’s Council and a member of the Germans from Russia Heritage Society. She also participated in the Host Program at the Odessa Schools. She held all offices in the LWML WA-AK District.

She was most happy when spending time with her family and being surrounded by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Bernardines Frick, her husband, Richard “Dick” Goetz, son, Jesse Goetz, brother, David Frick and sister, Allison Swartz. She is survived by her son, Dennis and Debra Goetz; daughters, Cheryl and Mike Nichols, Barbara and Ray Hayleck and Annette and Charles Krause; her brother Donald and sister Phyllis and Chris Larsen; 12 grandchildren, Michael and Markham Nichols, Charlie, Ryan and Jonathan Hayleck, Adam, Jessie Marie and Jocelyn Krause, Nathan, Jamie, Nicholas the Teshera Goetz, 13 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Drew (Wilke), Collette, Michael and Jackson Nichols, Garrett and Jake Hayleck, Cameron, Madi and Molly Hane and Maci and Karter Krause, Carson Goetz and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Zion Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Odessa, with Pastor Bill Goodin officiating. Interment followed at Odessa Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Hospice House of Spokane.
