Serving Lincoln County for more than a century!
Vic Kramer died July 27 at his home in Spokane at the age of 97. He was born July 20, 1915, to Peter B. and Marie Kramer on the Kramer homestead in Lincoln County. He attended a one-room country school before attending Odessa and Davenport schools, graduating from Odessa in 1933.
He married Agnes Clark in 1939 and farmed until 1980 when they moved to Spokane. He enjoyed visiting with people, playing games and making a joke out of a situation or telling a joke. For his enjoyment, as well as that of his audience, he loved playing accordion, a memory none of us will forget.
Vic was active in the Odessa Grange, Marcellus Wheat Growers Association, Shriners and the Masonic Lodge, serving as Grand Master in the 1950s. When he moved to Spokane he became involved with the Heritage Congregational Church, volunteering for various chores, as well as the Paper Packing Group. He attended Southside Senior Center and participated in pinochle and cribbage games and Thursday-night dances. He was an excellent dancer.
He is survived by his four children, Jan Branting, Spokane; Darrel and (Jan) Kramer, Everett; Errol and (Mary) Kramer, Odessa; and Myrna Izidor, Seattle. He is also survived by his grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, as well as nephews and nieces.
Vic was preceded in death by his parents, his nine siblings, his wife, Agnes of 63 years; his grandson, Asawa Izidor and his son-in-law, Ray Branting.
Graveside services were held August 1 at the Ritzville Lutheran Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at Hamblen Presbyterian Church in Spokane.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church, Hospice or Southside Senior Activity Center in Spokane. Please sign our online guest book at http://www.stratefuneralhome.com. Strate Funeral Home, Davenport, is caring for the family.
