Race for Lincoln County Commissioner a dead heat

The August 7, 2012 primary election was apparently fairly unappealing to most voters, as very few of them bothered to vote at all. Despite the very low turnout, the Lincoln County race for County Commissioner was one of the closest in the state, with only a few percentage points separating each of the three candidates.

As The Record goes to press this week, Mark Stedman had a slight lead over Kim Ramm who had a slight lead over Alan Stromberger. This is one race, where ballots sent in right before the Tuesday deadline might make a difference in the totals during the later counts.

The 46 precincts in Lincoln County have 6,811 registered voters. Only 2,580 ballots had been received by mail and counted as of Tuesday night. Any of the 4,231 ballots left to count will be reported by 4:30 p.m. on 08/08/2012, well after The Record has gone to press.

Voter turnout as of Tuesday was 37.88%. The election will be certified on 08/21/2012.
