School football, volleyball practices start this month

The Odessa-Harrington Titan football team will hold its first practice on Wednesday, August 15, at 6 p.m. in Odessa. Any student athletes wishing to participate need to obtain the proper forms from either Odessa School District or Harrington School District. The forms must be filled out completely prior to participation. Student athletes also will need to make sure their sports physical is current for this upcoming season. Please contact either Odessa School District or Harrington School District if there are any questions for this upcoming football season.

The Titan football team looks to have a promising 2012 season, returning many key players from last season’s team, which lost in the state semifinal playoff game to the eventual state champions. The Titans will rely mainly on this year’s senior class to carry most of the load. The Titans will open the 2012 season on August 31 against the Lacrosse-Washtucna Tigercats at Washtucna.

Volleyball

The Odessa-Harrington Titan volleyball team will begin practice on Monday, August 20, 2012. The first practice will be in the Odessa High School gym starting at 6 p.m.

Girls playing volleyball this year must have a current physical. Players must also have all Odessa and Harrington required paperwork completed prior to practicing.

A potluck for volleyball and football players and their families is planned for Monday evening, August 27 at 6 p.m. at Odessa’s Reiman Park.

The first match will be the Davenport Tournament on September 1. There will also be tournaments at Odessa on Tuesday, September 4 and at Ritzville on Saturday, September 8.
