Serving Lincoln County for more than a century!
Beginning Wednesday, December 5, Zion-Emmanuel Lutheran Church (at 4279 SR21 N.) in Odessa will be holding traditional mid-week Advent services. Throughout the Christian Church, it has been the custom for many years to gather for mid-week services in the season of Advent, a season marked by repentance, hope and anticipation for Christ’s coming. Services are generally shorter than Sunday morning services and offer time for contemplation on God's Word, prayer and participation in the Church’s preparation for Christ’s first coming (Christmas) and his return on the last day.
Each Wednesday evening, a “soup supper” will be offered, free of charge, to those who would like a meal, as well as a time for fellowship. Soup will be served beginning at 5 p.m. and will be available until a few minutes before the start of the service. The service itself will begin at 6 p.m. and will last 30-45 minutes. The “soup suppers” and the services are both open to the community.
