Basketball gets underway; Titan girls lose first two

OH vs. Republic

Junior varsity

Friday night’s junior varsity game against Republic gave the young team its first victory by a score of 44 - 21.

Freshman Casey Schlomer led the JV team with 17 points. Also scoring were Carley Williams with 11, Lanessa Simon 12 and Kaeli Shockley 4.

Schlomer also had 11 rebounds, one steal and 2 assists. Simon had 7 rebounds, 5 steals and 3 assists.

Varsity

The varsity game was not an easy one for the Titans. Republic took the win 53 - 25.

Chelsea Fisher led the scoring with 9 points. Kendall Todd added 4, Jordyn Tanke 5, Katie DeWulf 2 and Schlomer 5.

Tanke had 5 rebounds, 7 steals, and 2 assists. Todd had 6 rebounds, one steal and one assist. Fisher had 4 rebounds, 2 steals, one assist and 2 blocked shots.

OH vs. MLCA

On Saturday, December 1, the Titans met Moses Lake Christian Academy in Odessa. The game was originally scheduled for play in Moses Lake, but had to be changed. There was no JV game, only varsity action, as MLCA has no JV team.

Leading the scoring for O-H were Todd and Tanke with 8 points each. Fisher had 5, Ashley Baarstad one, DeWulf 3, Williams 4, Simon 2, Schlomer 2 and Sam Nighswonger 2.

MLCA’s Yarbro was unstoppable and scored 28 points for the Lions.

Defensively for the Titans, Cydnee Kieffer had 5 rebounds and 2 assists, Fisher had 9 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 blocked shots and Tanke had 2 rebounds, 4 steals and 2 assists.
