Titan boys get back-to-back wins in weekend games

The Odessa-Harrington Titan boys basketball team started off their season with a bang by walloping their first two opponents.

The Titans defeated the Republic Tigers 61-31 on Friday at home in Odessa, coming out strong and maintaining intensity throughout the game.

Cade Weber led the Titan offense with 20 points, while Justin Hunt added another 16. Jacob DeWulf scored 8, Jake Tanke 7, Markus Smith 5, Madison Charlton and Sam Schafer 2 each and Nick Tebow 1.

DeWulf led the defense, pulling down 10 defensive rebounds and 4 offensive rebounds for the Titans. Charlton had 4 defensive rebounds and 2 offensive rebounds.

OH vs. MLCA

Junior varsity

No JV game was played against Moses Lake Christian Academy. The school has only a varsity team.

Varsity

Against the MLCA varsity, the Odessa-Harrington Titans had a much tougher opponent, but they nevertheless prevailed by a score of 46 to 31. The game, originally scheduled to be played in Moses Lake, was played in Odessa instead.

Smith and Hunt led the Titan scoring with 12 points each. Weber had 8, Tanke 7, DeWulf 5 and Schafer 2.

DeWulf again led the defense with a total of 15 rebounds.

The Titans scoring percentage was lower in this game than it had been in Friday night’s game, the team average dropping from nearly 37 percent to 25 percent.
