The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office does not release names of individuals who report possible criminal or suspicious activities to dispatchers or alleged victims for this column.
Monday, Feb. 25: A caller told dispatchers he was taking his 36-year-old wife to Lincoln Hospital after she experienced chest pain.
After a Miles Creston Road resident reported seeing people on his property apparently attempting to take his three show dogs, a responding deputy learned the man suffers from Alzheimer's disease and that the case was unfounded.
Copper lead was reported stolen from property adjacent to Brown Road East in the Sprague area.
A caller told dispatchers that a 2-year-old child was crying while being "ripped in and out" of a house in the 1000 block of Adams Street in Davenport. A responding deputy learned that there had been an argument between a man and woman and that the child had been outside and brought inside the residence.
A Davenport man reported his hotmail account had been tampered with.
A resident of the 300 block of Main Street in Davenport reported finding tracks in the snow outside his front window indicating someone had apparently walked up to it and looked inside.
A tandem truck got stuck on the shoulder of Dreger Road south of Creston.
A woman was taken into custody after deputies investigated the possible assault of a young girl in Creston.
Firefighters from Davenport and Egypt responded to a reported chimney fire at a residence on Pankey Road East.
Tuesday, Feb. 26: Davenport ambulance and Reardan emergency personnel assisted a 50-year-old woman who may have suffered a heart attack.
Lincoln County deputies retrieved a baby book and other items tossed to the side of the road from a woman's vehicle that was stolen in Spokane County the previous night.
A caller reported three men tried to get into his residence in the 600 block of Tenth Street in Davenport to take property.
Deputies checked out a report of an older man hanging around "suspiciously" outside the Davenport fairgrounds building while the local dance academy was in session.
Unable to locate it, at least three deputies searched the Sprague area for a vehicle driven without headlights by a man to a residence, came to the front door and said he had "outrun a sheriff" and had become lost.
A Reardan student was expelled from school after allegedly bringing a 3½-inch folding blade knife on campus.
Wednesday, Feb. 27: Davenport ambulance personnel assisted a 36-year-old woman with a high heart rate.
Odessa ambulance personnel assisted an elderly man who fell in the bathroom of the local Leffel, Otis and Warwick building.
A Davenport woman reported the theft of about $50 from her purse at a residence in the 900 block of Morgan Street.
A deputy managed to convince occupants of an apartment in the 1000 block of Logan Street in Davenport to keep the noise level down.
Thursday, Feb. 28: A Davenport man told dispatchers that his truck engine was ruined by sediment found in the fuel tank shortly after he purchased gasoline.
A resident of the 900 block of Morgan Street in Davenport reported a vehicle with a group of five young men claiming to represent Regal Satellite, which when contacted, suggested a scam was taking place.
Deputies handled a "minor in possession" incident in the vicinity of Davenport High School.
A rock slide was reported on SR 25 about 18 miles north of Davenport.
A caller advised several mailboxes had been smashed along Little Falls Road.
Deputies investigated a harassment report involving a man and woman in the Davenport area.
While walking with his children in the area, a caller reported finding a fully loaded 50-round rifle magazine buried in a snow bank near SR 231 and Euclid Road.
Davenport ambulance personnel were sent to the 600 block of Twelfth Street to assist a 94-year-old woman with high blood pressure.
In a narcotics-related matter, deputies took custody of a man who told Black Bear Motel personnel in Davenport that he was looking for a place to stay "without involving law enforcement."
Friday, March 1: Davenport ambulance assisted an 88-year-old woman who fell at home and may have broken bones.
Sparks resulted after an owl flew into a power line on Lincoln Street between First and Second streets in Harrington. No outage was reported.
A caller reported hearing several pistol shots fired in the Bald Ridge Road area at about 2 a.m.
Responding to an assault incident in the 600 block of Main Street in Davenport, deputies arrested a man for domestic violence. A man told dispatchers he had been "socked" 10 times and that his girlfriend, while attempting to intervene, was also assaulted.
A collision on Sterling Valley Road involved a rock and a vehicle reportedly used by a 14-year-old boy to dispose of trash.
Saturday, March 2: Odessa ambulance personnel assisted a man who fell while getting into bed.
Deputies investigated the reported theft of a chainsaw valued at about $400 from a residence in the 400 block of Airport Way in Seven Bays.
Deputies responded to a report of a possibly intoxicated man in his early 40s found in a ditch with blood on his face in the vicinity of SR 231 and Little Falls Road.
A caller advised that people may have been illegally shooting on property just off the Old Sprague Highway about a mile south of I-90.
A vehicle got stuck in mud at the Davenport fairgrounds parking lot.
Sunday, March 3: Believing someone was in a house in the 300 block of Adams Street in Davenport, a girl and her boyfriend hid in the bathroom, from which she called for assistance. Two responding deputies found no one else inside or around the residence.
A vehicle traveling on Miles Creston Road went through a couple of fences but did not roll. Its driver, a Seven Bays resident, told responding deputies that she blacked out during the collision.
A woman was taken to Coulee Community Hospital after the vehicle she drove went off Plum Point Road East and into Lake Roosevelt, becoming fully submerged.
A man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting young children inside a residence in the 500 block of West First Street in Sprague.
After fishing, a man told National Park Service rangers that someone had broken into his vehicle parked at the Fort Spokane boat launch. Missing were two checkbooks, keys, a garage door opener, three pairs of sunglasses and a pair of glasses. Someone attempted to cash a $3,100 check, believed to be from one of the checkbooks, at a check cashing store.

Juvenile Offender Disposition
Dominic Jordan Lee James, 15, pleaded guilty Feb. 5 to second-degree malicious mischief and second-degree burglary in connection with a Jan. 22 incident at the Sprague K&L Chevron, where a glass door had been kicked in and nearly $200 of merchandise taken. He must complete 50 hours community service, and 20 days detention (11 credited as served), and pay $1,939.34 restitution and $100 court costs. Whatcom County, where he lives, will administer the 12 months of community supervision ordered by the court.
New Criminal Case
Tyler James Howells (also known as Howells-Connelly), 20, of Cheney, is charged with third-degree assault in connection with a Feb. 17 incident inside the county jail during which Lyle Hendrickson, jail superintendent, was spit upon.
New Juvenile Offender Cases
A 15-year-old Creston girl is charged with third-degree theft in connection with the Oct. 23, 2012, taking of $80 in cash from a purse belonging to a Creston High School teacher.
A 16-year-old Davenport boy is charged with furnishing liquor to minors and making false or misleading statements to deputies responding to a malicious mischief call on Jan. 13 at a residence in the 900 block of Morgan Street.
